The
data can be downloaded from Yahoo starting with 1970. If you need
such a long history, we would recommend to download Weekly or even
Monthly data for very remote dates, and create End-of-Day symbol with
a starting date, say 1998. This will dramatically reduce the Internet
traffic and increase the speed of data update. HQuote performance
depends on the length of history you download |

symbols to use

There
is internal database of tickers in Metastock Downloader. These tickers
may not match the tickers on Yahoo or Quote.com For example, Dow Jones
Industrial Index in Metastock is represented by .DJI ticker Meanwhile
on Yahoo it is ^DJI We recommend to use valid online symbols - in
this example create (or rename to) ^DJI symbol in your Metastock Database. |
