How to begin?

1. Download and install Equis Metastock Downloader. If you already have one installed, skip this step. (We recommend to update your MS Downloader if it's older then v7.21) The program is completely free, but you need to enter a key, sent to you via e-mail

2. Download and install Quotelf Center(qCenter) At the end of installation a configuration utility will be started, you need to click General Settings->Metastock menu and complete two steps :

a) Browse to the directory in which qcenter.exe is currently installed
b) Click checkbox "Use Quotelf for data downloading" and click OK (this will copy our qcenter.exe into Downloader's directory)

3. Run Metastock Downloader and update your existing database or create new symbols.

How it works?

Simple. Metastock Downloader contains an executable program (qcenter.exe) in "Program Files\Equis\The Downloader" directory. This program is always being called when the user wants to update the data. When update window pops up, it goes to pay service like Dial Data or Reuters, checks your credentials and if it's OK downloads the data and so on.

When you install Quotelf Center, there's our own qcenter.exe which replaces the original program. Do not worry, a back-up copy (qcenter.bak) of original file is automatically saved and you can restore it in a second. Now when you press Update in your Metastock Downloader, Quotelf Center is being launched and it directly goes to Yahoo and Quote.com for the data. When the data is downloaded it's being passed back to Metastock Downloader. That's all !
